The Gift of Giving

by | Jan 11, 2018 | Events, Project

This time of year, gift giving has been on the minds of people. Gifts are a beautiful way of showing that we love and care about others. A lot of time and thought goes into that special gift we want to give to those we love. Whether a lot of money is spent or just a little, most value the thought put into a special gift.

Gift giving, or Philanthropy, can take on many forms. While giving gifts normally involve knowing the person on a more intimate level, Philanthropy is usually giving with a common purpose in mind. In fact, Philanthropy is defined as a love of humanity which gives for a purpose or a cause.

Our family here at Roeser Home Remodeling want you to know that we are committed to giving back to our community. Our philosophy of life revolves around giving and helping others. In appreciation for all that our customers in the St. Louis and Kirkwood areas have done for us, we also encourage our family and employees to give back to the community. Leading by example, we coach others and share our expertise, not just in the field of home remodeling, but also in other areas to benefit the local community.

Roeser Home Remodeling, as a company or as employees, participated in several projects over the past year. Many of the projects touched our hearts.

For instance, we were proud sponsors and contributors in the annual event for Pancreatic Cancer Research in special memory of Sharon Rau and Terry Rau Sr. They were clients, but also lovely people. Sadly, they each passed away from the same awful disease only two years apart from each other. They are greatly missed.

Continuing our passion for giving, Roeser sponsored a bike team for the second year in a row. “Pedal for a Cause” helps benefit local research for finding a way to end cancer.

We have also been involved with and helped sponsor the “Evening of 100 Fingers”, which is an organization that supports Pianos for People. This organization is designed to get pianos into the homes of those who could not otherwise afford them, offering free piano lessons with the piano helping many children and young adults build skills, self-respect, and discipline.

Our very own Production Coordinator, Mark Talley participated in the 2017 “Operation Clean Stream” that takes place once a year designed to help protect our environment and wildlife from hazardous pollution. The volunteers in this project are selfless, wading in mud and gunk, as well as braving dirty water and possible encounters with poisonous snakes while helping clean up the polluted areas around the Meramec River basin. This past year, the volunteers covered about 500 miles of river area, cleaning up debris.

In addition to these projects, Roeser Home Remodeling continues to be involved in the community by supporting local schools, including Trivia night at North Middle School. As well as locally supporting the community by sponsoring the band “The Dog’s Breakfast” at Station Plaza’s Summer Concert series. This is a great event in Kirkwood to promote families and friends getting together and building relationships.

Of course, Roeser Home Remodeling also supports the Home Builders Charitable Foundation and we participate regularly in many St. Louis events, including hosting a Happy Hour to encourage other local builders and remodelers to raise the bar when it comes to home remodeling ethics and quality.

What lies ahead for the new year? Home remodeling trends change from year to year. Gift giving, or Philanthropy never goes out of style, the idea of acts of kindness and helping others will continue to be a part of the Roeser Home Remodeling way of life. We are dedicated to giving back to our community and staying on top of the trends of home remodeling while giving you the best when it comes to your home remodeling projects.

Being the proud recipients of the BBB Torch Award in 2017, Roeser Home Remodeling will continue to be a name you can trust to put the St. Louis and Kirkwood communities and your personal home remodeling interests to the forefront as we move ahead into 2018.
