Curb Appeal in Kirkwood

This adorable home in Kirkwood is well loved and taken care of. You can tell as soon as you look at it. Beautiful gardens lining the walk to the front door and ever changing seasonal décor combine to enhance the curb appeal of the home. From an outsider’s perspective, it was perfect. However, the homeowner had other ideas in mind.

The front door was rarely used as an entrance to the home. While it added curb appeal with the gardens and décor, the homeowner wanted the side door to become the main entrance and a gathering place for friends and family. The homeowner dreamed of having a porch swing, but the side entrance was not large enough to accommodate one. Plus, there was no roof protection over the side door. Roeser Home Remodeling had just the right answers.

In keeping with city codes and a tight budget, we were able to stretch the existing porch from 4’ to 6’ giving enough added space to allow space for the desired porch swing. We added a matching roof and Azek columns to mirror the front door, along with a new wide walkway to the side entrance. To keep the area warm and inviting, we installed the homeowners front light adding a dimmer and new switch control to the side door. A PVC hand rail was added for easy maintenance, and the railing along the front of the house was removed. Now they have a great view of the street and driveway.

The homeowners are thrilled to have a new, inviting entrance area and are looking forward to welcoming friends and family to show them the new space.
