Taking two small dark rooms and widening the walkway to the Garage in order open this small space up to one large “L-Shape” kitchen was quite a task for this Town and Country Ranch style home. Installing a Marvin outswing French door to the patio not only brightened the space, but gave a perfect entry to the exterior entertaining space. A Custom Marvin Triple Sash Slider Window replaced an old Bay window in the breakfast area. Installing an Elkay under mounts sink and Moen’s Camerist – one handle pullout sink prepared the main kitchen area for work. A smaller one handle Bar with pull down spout works well for any work at the smaller sink. Can lights along with Xenon Under cabinet lighting were provided on dimmers for all areas of lighting needs.
Viking was the appliance of choice for these homeowners and included a refrigerator, range, oven, microwave- along with the venting hood, but added a favorite in the Asko dishwasher. The Stainless Steel finish complimented the Caesar Stone Lagos Blue Countertop in a Honed finish. An accent top for work near the stove top featured a Butcher Block working top for every cooks dream.
The star of the show had to be the beautiful Ann Sacks 4” X 8” Selene Marble tile with a 2” X 2” metal roping accent strip.
The beautiful Wellborn Cabinets in the Premier Line had the simplicity of the Sonona Door Style in Maple, but had the unexpected look of a Greystone finish- perfect for the stainless and Top Knobs hardware choices.
Taking the small coffee area and featuring the cabinet doors with the Diamond Glass Lead glass created by a local art store gave the Kitchen design even more interest and light. All this ties into the gray’s from the stainless to the countertops to the lead glass and the hardware. Matching the ¾” X 2 ¼” Select White Oak Wood Flooring in the kitchen and breakfast area with the flooring in other areas of the house- warm the space and bring the colors from the Butcher Block and the backsplash tile. The design works perfectly for cooking and entertaining along with complimenting the beauty of the rest of the home.
