A Commitment to Preserving Homes

by | Mar 10, 2021 | Home Remodeling

Roeser Home Remodeling is known for its commitment to preserving homes. One of their more recent projects was for the Todt family of Sunset Hills. After her parents passed, she and her siblings wanted to keep their home in the family to preserve the cherished memories there.

Their father was very handy and had done a lot of work within the home. The Todts wanted a contractor who would be mindful of the original handiwork and respectful of making changes to the family home.

Roeser Home Remodeling listened to her vision and brought it to life.

Open house

The Todt kitchen before the desk wall was removed to open the floor plan.

First, the floor plan was reconfigured, opening the house up for better flow. A 13-foot wall divided the living room and kitchen in the home layout. This left a 3-foot space for passage between the two rooms. A small wet bar in the living room and desk in the kitchen shared the wall.

The wall was removed to open the house and make for a better flow between the rooms.

Kitchen

The original kitchen with dark cabinets and a U-shaped work space.

At one time, it was trendy to have a desk area in a kitchen. This area disappeared when the remodeling team removed the wall between the kitchen and family room.

A large island with plenty of seating was installed. This family likes to gather with extended family and friends and the island offers plenty of space to chat and prepare food.

The new wet bar with glass cabinets.

A pantry was removed and, in its space, a bar area with glass cabinets and sink was designed and installed. High end appliances were chosen and installed. A marble backsplash behind the range gives the beautiful white kitchen a pop of color. The island cabinets are a different color for contrast.

With the more open floor plan and the remodeled kitchen, the first floor became the perfect space to host future family gatherings.

Bathroom

The Todts wanted their master bath to be a spa oasis, and that’s what we created for them. The old tub was replaced with a 6-foot soaking tub and a large shower with a glass door was installed next to it. The linen closet was moved to where the old shower stood to make space for a double vanity.

Powder Room

Remodeled powder room with new flooring.

The laundry room, mud room and powder room were also remodeled. New hardwood floors were installed in the kitchen and adjoining living room and mud room and laundry rooms. New carpeting was installed in the master bedroom and master bedroom closet.

Conclusion

Roeser Home Remodeling has a commitment to preserving homes in the St. Louis area that has spanned decades. Whether you want to remodel one room to create extra space, or remodel your whole house, you can trust us with your project.
